Yesterday it was 8 degrees. Today the high was more like 20. It's cold.
As a New Year's Resolution I vowed to not eat candy or potato chips for an entire year. (thus far I have been successful). So now for a treat I allow myself 10 minutes of "warm time". I make a small cave with the blankets on my bed and let the space heater blow into them creating a brilliantly warm tunnel on my legs as I read a book. It's fantastic. Better than chocolate. Unfortunately, as soon as my ten minutes are over and I am cozy in the dark, Adler needs to eat.
Some William antic dotes:
As conscientious parents, Paul and I clapped child locks on "no-no" cupboards and bathroom doorknobs. A few months ago I saw Liam take off the lock to the pots and pans cupboard, take out the pans, close it up again, and replace the child lock. "well...," i thought, "at least he can't get to the high cupboards with dishes and honey." Today, however, he proved me wrong. All he needs to do is slide a stool over and climb up. "Mommy...look...washin da foor... salt...!" he shouts proudly and pours the salt from his high view.
During these cold winter months I use the crock pot to cook. When I peeked in the kitchen this morning my toddler informed me that we needed to "cook the ornges and gapefuts." he climbed on the counter and loaded the fruit. I caught him as he was unsuccessfully inserting the crock pot plug into the socket.
I love two year olds.

I love you're idea of "warm time". It sounds so cozy. I'll have to try it. As far as the no candy thing goes ... it's better if I don't think about that too much.
Linds, It's Alicia Howe (Phillips) from high school. I love your blog. I also have a blog murrayphillips.blogspot. Our two year olds sound very similar-good luck to ya!
You certainly have some active kids. Got your Christmas letter in the mail the other day and loved it (even if it did take up my whole fridge). I love that your little guy calls you Paul Mommy. Too cute!
Its about time you start writing again!!!! ;)
